Contextuality and Dichotomizations of Random Variables

چکیده
The Contextuality-by-Default approach to determining and measuring the (non)contextuality of a system random variables requires that every variable in be represented by an equivalent set dichotomous variables. In this paper we present general principles justify use dichotomizations determine their choice. main idea choosing is if possible values endowed with pre-topology (V-space), then allowable split space into two linked subsets (“linkedness” being weak form pre-topological connectedness). We primarily focus on types most often encountered practice: categorical real-valued ones (including continuous variables, greatly underrepresented contextuality literature). A (one finite number unordered values) all its dichotomizations. If are real numbers, they dichotomized intervals above below cut point.

Random Variables Recorded under Mutually Exclusive Conditions: Contextuality-by-Default
We present general principles underlying analysis of the dependence of random variables (outputs) on deterministic conditions (inputs). Random outputs recorded under mutually exclusive input values are labeled by these values and considered stochastically unrelated, possessing no joint distribution. An input that does not directly influence an output creates a context for the latter. Any constr...
متن کاملContextuality-by-Default 2.0: Systems with Binary Random Variables
The paper outlines a new development in the Contextualityby-Default theory as applied to finite systems of binary random variables. The logic and principles of the original theory remain unchanged, but the definition of contextuality of a system of random variables is now based on multimaximal rather than maximal couplings of the variables that measure the same property in different contexts: a...
متن کاملOn the Ratio of Rice Random Variables
The ratio of independent random variables arises in many applied problems. In this article, the distribution of the ratio X/Y is studied, when X and Y are independent Rice random variables. Ratios of such random variable have extensive applications in the analysis of noises of communication systems. The exact forms of probability density function (PDF), cumulative distribution function (CDF) a...
متن کاملSOME RESULTS OF MOMENTS OF UNCERTAIN RANDOM VARIABLES
Chance theory is a mathematical methodology for dealing with indeterminatephenomena including uncertainty and randomness.Consequently, uncertain random variable is developed to describe the phenomena which involveuncertainty and randomness. Thus, uncertain random variable is a fundamental concept in chance theory. This paper provides some practical quantities to describe uncertain random variable...
متن کاملHidden Variables Simulating Quantum Contextuality Increasingly Violate the Holevo Bound
In this paper we approach some questions about quantum contextuality with tools from formal logic. In particular, we consider an experiment associated with the PeresMermin square. The language of all possible sequences of outcomes of the experiment is classified in the Chomsky hierarchy and seen to be a regular language. Next, we make the rather evident observation that a finite set of hidden f...
